FUNDING FOR WATER BUFFALOES (& Dairies)

Ontario’s Dairy Processing Modernization Initiative advertises 50% grant funding up to $200,000 for Ontario dairy processors (cow, sheep, goat, water buffalo) to adopt new equipment that enhances efficiency and improves food safety. Eligible expenditures include:

• Equipment acquisition and installation
• Staff training on new equipment.
• Engineering and professional services required to implement new processing technology or secure food safety certification.
• Minor building modifications or structural upgrades for the integration of new equipment

Project expenditures must be incurred on or after April 1, 2024, and before February 15, 2026. The total program budget is $8 million. The application intake is from April 2, 2024, to November 30, 2025, or until funding is fully allocated (whichever is sooner).
